Steps For Admission

STEP 1: SCHEDULE A VISIT

If you’re interested in touring the college, we offer both personal and group visits on campus. Visits include a campus tour and discussion with our admission staff.

STEP 2: CHOOSE A PROGRAM OF STUDY AND REVIEW CAREER OPTIONS

STEP 3: COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION AND RESIDENCY

New students and students who have not enrolled in a year or more need to complete the Âé¶¹AV application and the NC Residency Determination through CFNC.

(establish if you qualify for in-state or out-state tuition)

Access Student Account / Login Information – an admission letter will be mailed to you once your online application has been processed. Your student id number is included in the admissions letter and should be used to setup your Âé¶¹AV student account.

The Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) provides academic advisement, career workshops, information on post-secondary educational opportunities, and free assistance with completing applications for college admission, testing, and financial aid.  .

STEP 4: LEARN WHAT IT COSTS

STEP 5: SUBMIT YOUR TRANSCRIPTS, CREDIT FOR PRIOR LEARNING, AND PLACEMENT INFORMATION

Request official transcript(s) from high school, or high school equivalency, and previous college(s) be sent to the Admissions Office. Students are placed into English and Math courses based upon high school transcripts that meet a specific unweighted high school GPA, GED/HiSet scores, or SAT/ACT scores.

Transcripts from institutions outside the United States must be translated into English and evaluated for US equivalency by a member service of the ; current member list of The name you are currently using should appear on each transcript or
documentation of a legal name change should be included. The translation must come from the certified credentialing agency directly to Âé¶¹AV.

  • Official transcripts will be receipted within 3 business days after being received by the College.
  • Official college transcripts will be evaluated within 7 business days after being received by the College.
  • Students can view any transfer credit awarded in on their Timeline. Transfer credits will be listed under the Transfer Credit column with a grade of TC.

To check on the status of a transcript please contact the Records Office at 336-322-2159 or email records@piedmontcc.edu. Official transcripts submitted to Âé¶¹AV without an application for admission will be held for one year. If no application is submitted within that time, the transcripts will be shredded.

STEP 6: MEET WITH AN ADVISOR & REGISTER FOR CLASSES

Academic advising is one of the most critical components of student success at Âé¶¹AV. Advisors answer questions, provide valuable information about programs of study, and guide students in setting academic goals, selecting courses, and completing registration.

STEP 7: PAY FOR TUITION

All Âé¶¹AV students are encouraged to apply for ® (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to be considered for additional grants and scholarships. Click here for additional information.

STEP 8: ATTEND WELCOME ORIENTATION

Welcome Orientation for new students is recommended for all incoming Âé¶¹AV Students.
