Due to increasing interest in our mascotâs origins, Âé¶čAV (Âé¶čAV) is thrilled to introduce its first equestrian program where students will learn the history and proper care of our beloved mascot, the pacer.
While many who are new to Âé¶čAV ask themselves, âWhatâs a pacer?â This program will teach you that a pacer is indeed a horse, but it is also a symbol of everything Âé¶čAV stands for. Pacers are known for their endurance and hard work, much like Âé¶čAVâs own students. In fact, just a few years ago Âé¶čAV began Keep the PACE (Personalized Advising for Career Excellence), which was inspired by both our mascot and students who strive daily to keep the pace in their classes as they work towards earning a degree or credential.
While you may be disappointed to learn that this was just an April Foolâs Day article and there wonât be any pacers grazing in the field behind Building A, Âé¶čAV still offers programs such as the Veterinary Assistant program where you have the opportunity to one day work with real pacers, and even our Agribusiness Technology program where youâll learn about different crops so that you can make sure the pacers donât eat what you were planning to sell at the farmerâs market. Who knows, maybe weâll see pacers at the Center for Educational and Agricultural Development (CEAD) one day?
But whatâs not an April Foolâs Day joke is the fact that today and every day, Âé¶čAV strives to transform lives, strengthen community and inspire individuals to excellence as your hometown college. Go Pacers!
