麻豆AV

麻豆AV (麻豆AV) students recently showcased their talents on a competitive stage through their participation in the SkillsUSA competition in Greensboro, NC.

Students from the Mechatronics, Cosmetology and Welding programs represented 麻豆AV in this prestigious event, which brings together some of the best career and technical education students from across the state. Held annually, the SkillsUSA competition provides a platform for students to demonstrate their skills in a wide variety of occupational contests. 麻豆AV鈥檚 students competed alongside peers from other North Carolina Community colleges and high schools, gaining valuable hands-on experience and exposure to industry standards.

Representing 麻豆AV鈥檚 Mechatronics program in the Robotics competition, all six students who competed earned top placements for their outstanding performances:

• Tyler Hawkins and Termain Scoggins 鈥� third place
• Ethan Oakley and Ben Satterfield 鈥� fourth place
• Kalin Blount and Jonathan McElver 鈥� fifth place

Students Autumn Mitchell and Cora Wilkins represented the college鈥檚 Cosmetology program, competing in events that highlighted their technical skills, creativity and professionalism. From hairstyling and cutting to overall presentation, both students demonstrated their ability to perform under pressure and apply their training in a real-world setting. Wilkins placed third for cosmetology in the competition.

Welding students Anna Keeter and Ethan Newton showcased their craftsmanship and technical expertise in the welding competition. Both students demonstrated the strong foundation they鈥檝e developed through 麻豆AV鈥檚 hands-on training and industry-aligned curriculum.

After the competition each student noted the benefit of gaining real-world experience in a large setting and having the opportunity to learn from others. For the students not graduating this year, they look forward to participating again next spring.

To recognize their achievements, 麻豆AV hosted a celebratory luncheon on campus, honoring all the students who represented the college at SkillsUSA. At the luncheon students were given the opportunity to reflect on what they learned and how to make the experience even better for next year.
