Âé¶čAV (Âé¶čAV) proudly celebrated the graduation of seven outstanding students from its Veterinary Assistant Program at a ceremony held on the Caswell County Campus on May 8.

The 2025 Veterinary Assistant graduates are as follows: Courtney Hackett, Sarah Holder, Abigail McCann, Meadow Moore, Sage Robertson, Bryan Waddle and Leah Jordan Wade.

The graduates were escorted into the ceremony by Bodie, the French bulldog. Justin Pedley, Veterinary Medical Technology Director at Alamance Community College, served as the guest speaker.

“As you head into this next chapter, take pride in what you’ve achieved and stay humble in the face of what’s still to learn,” Pedley said. Be kind, be bold, be curious and be relentless.

Under the exceptional leadership of instructor Melanie Gibson, the Veterinary Assistant program has seen significant advancements this year. Gibson’s student-first approach, commitment to academic rigor and passion for the veterinary field have transformed the program and enriched the learning experience for her students.

The Veterinary Assistant program at Âé¶čAV prepares students for meaningful careers in animal care by providing hands-on training, technical instruction and foundational knowledge in veterinary medical practices. Graduates are equipped to pursue employment in veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, shelters, research facilities and other professional animal care environments. Some may also choose to continue their education to become licensed veterinary technicians or veterinarians.

“These graduates have shown incredible passion and perseverance,” Dr. Shawnee Seese, Director of Continuing Education Programs at Âé¶čAV said. “We are confident they will make valuable contributions to the veterinary field and to the communities they serve.”

Âé¶čAV remains committed to building a strong regional pipeline for careers in animal health and science. For more information about the Veterinary Assistant program or to enroll in future cohorts, visit piedmontcc.edu/vetassist.
