Golfers gathered to make a difference at the 36th Annual Âé¶čAV (Âé¶čAV) Foundation Golf Classic presented by Legacy Building Company on September 15 at Treyburn Country Club. The tournament raised a record $62,375 in revenue, with proceeds benefiting student scholarships and other initiatives that strengthen opportunities for Âé¶čAV students.
The tournament featured 30 teams competing in a captainâs choice format, creating a day of friendly competition while raising critical funds for the College. Legacy Building Company served as the tournamentâs presenting sponsor, providing significant support to make the event possible.
Enbridge Gas NC served as the Awards & Lunch Reception sponsor. Their sponsorship not only supported the tournament but also provides a $1,000 scholarship to a student for the Spring 2027 semester.
The team sponsored by Elliott Electric claimed first place, followed by the Joe Weinberger, Jr. Attorney-at-Law team in second place and the team sponsored by Stephen L. Wilson, CPA, PA in third.
The tournament also featured an impressive and rare accomplishment on the course. Cody Spencer and Michael Puryear, both members of the Elliott Electric team, each recorded a hole-in-one on hole 13, adding an exciting highlight to an already memorable day of competition.
âThis yearâs Golf Classic was an incredible success, and we are extremely grateful to everyone who helped make it possible,â Grayson Brann, Executive Director of the Âé¶čAV Foundation, said. âI want to extend a special thank you to Cecil Barker and Mark Duncan of Legacy Building Company for their partnership and generous support as our presenting sponsor of the 36th Annual Golf Classic. Their commitment to Âé¶čAV and our students made a tremendous difference in this yearâs event.â
âWe are also thankful to all of our sponsors, golfers, volunteers, the Âé¶čAV Foundation Golf/Event Committee, and everyone who contributed their time and resources to make the day a success. Most importantly, the record $62,375 raised will help provide scholarships and support programs that directly benefit our students. We are grateful for the continued generosity of our community and look forward to building on this success as we prepare for next yearâs tournament.â
