Four Â鶹AV (Â鶹AV) Paramedic program graduates were celebrated at a ceremony held on the Caswell County Campus on May 20.

Surrounded by family, friends, faculty and staff, the graduates received certificates and pins for completing the program. The Paramedic cohort takes a year to complete with a total of 1,080 hours comprised of classroom work, skills labs, simulations and clinical time in hospitals and the field. They are graded in the cognitive (knowledge) domain, psychomotor (skills) domain and affective (interpersonal interactions/professionalism) domain. Graduation requires passing all three domains with greater than 80%.

Â鶹AV’s Paramedic program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) which means that students are eligible to test through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians or the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services for their paramedic credential.

The Paramedic program graduates are as follows: Brittany Camp, Jason Cano, Isabella Kjaerulff and John Oakley.
