Âé¶čAV (Âé¶čAV) president Dr. Pamela G. Senegal has been selected as a respondent for the tenth annual Dallas Herring Lecture on Tuesday, November 19 at 1 p.m.
The Dallas Herring Lecture is held by the Belk Center for Community College Leadership and Research, which is part of NC State University, in honor of the late W. Dallas Herring. Herring is known as the father of the North Carolina Community College System. The lecture invites community college leaders from across the country to speak on urgent and emerging topics, framing how to address the issues and proposing a path forward.
This yearâs lecture is titled âTransforming Higher Education: Loving Our Students to Success through Intentional, Courageous, and Systemic Leadershipâ and will be presented by Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart, chancellor of Austin Community College District. Senegal, along with Dr. Scott Ralls, president of Wake Technical Community College, will have the opportunity to respond to Lowery-Hartâs lecture with their thoughts and insights.
Âé¶čAV will be hosting a watch party for employees to gather to watch the lecture live.
âIâm honored to have been selected as a respondent for this yearâs Dallas Herring Lecture,â Senegal said. âItâs so important for community college leaders to have opportunities like this to convene and discuss emerging issues in higher education so that we can collaborate on innovative solutions that meet the needs of our students and communities.â
