Âé¶čAV (Âé¶čAV) is pleased to announce a generous donation of $10,000 from Roxboro Savings Bank to the College’s Small Business Center BOOST Program. This contribution will further expand the BOOST Program, which provides crucial financial support and training to small business owners in Person and Caswell Counties.

The BOOST (Building Opportunities on Saving and Training) Program, initially launched with the support of Roxboro Savings Bank, has already made a significant impact. Over the past year, BOOST funding has benefited 13 small businesses—10 in Person County and 3 in Caswell County—helping local entrepreneurs expand their operations, purchase equipment, and strengthen their businesses. Participants have ranged from farms and restaurants to artisan collectives, construction companies, and service providers.

“We are truly grateful to Roxboro Savings Bank for their generous support of the BOOST program,” Catherine English, Executive Director, Âé¶čAV Foundation said. “The grants awarded to small business owners who complete the program provides crucial financial assistance for start-up or expansion and fuels their excitement and confidence for the future.”

The BOOST Program equips entrepreneurs with the tools they need to succeed by offering training seminars, personalized counseling and financial assistance. Participants are required to complete training sessions in business planning and finance, as well as demonstrate a commitment to saving for their business ventures. Upon completion, their savings are matched dollar-for-dollar to a maximum of $1,000, providing a significant boost to their operations.

This latest donation from Roxboro Savings Bank enables more small businesses to thrive. These funds will directly impact local businesses, promoting economic growth and sustainability across the region.
